The Kinetic Installation "After Rain" is a spatial and visual representation of petrichor - the earthy scent produced when rain falls on dry soil. It is strongly perceptible in the air, carrying the weight of each droplet, which is why the main components of the object are densely arranged strings on wire structures. Suspended from them are wooden and clay elements, whose quantity increases towards the bottom - this relates to the high intensity of the scent close to the ground. The inversion of colors - brown at the top, blue at the bottom - alludes to the mixing of aromas during the rain. Water settles deep in the substrate, while the earthy fragrance lingers densely in the air. The olfactory experience is a spatial one, which is why the installation's arms move delicately from side to side and around their own axis. These three aspects - movement, spatiality, and visuality - allow for experiencing the aroma of petrichor without relying on the sense of smell.
Height about 150 cm.
